ASW CEO Sabine Heller and ASW Chairman Patrick Liotard-Vogt welcomed 200 guests including Freida Pinto, Sadie Frost, Elodie Bouchez, Leven Rambin, Thomas Bangalter (Daft Punk), Kangana Ranaut (Bollywood Star), Kiera Chaplin, Arizona Muse, Tali Lennox, Michael Avedon, Kyleigh Kuhn, Chelsea Leyland, Francesco Missoni, Teresa Missoni, , Lex Kendall, Kyle Hotchkiss Carone, Jean-Claude Biver (Chairman, Hublot), the honourable Sergio Marchi (Canada’s former Secretary of State), at the iconic Gstaad Palace Hotel for the fourth annual Holiday Weekend in the Swiss Alps.

“ASMALLWORLD’s Winter Weekend in Gstaad was the perfect gathering of an eclectic mix of people with unique ideas, rib-tickling anecdotes, innovative stories, inspirational experiences and, above all, generous spirits,” said guest Freida Pinto. “The Christmas season couldn’t have had a better start.”

“Freida has fast become a beloved member of the ASW family. We are all enchanted by her,” said ASW CEO Sabine Heller. “Her enthusiasm and spirit of generosity is infectious, and moved many members to donate to Plan International during our gala at ASW’s Gstaad Winter Weekend.” ASW raised approximately 200,000 USD for charity Plan International during the course of Saturday evening.

The weekend kicked off with an evening cocktail reception in the Gstaad Palace Grand Lobby where guests enjoyed a selection of signature Grey Goose cocktails while enjoying music from renowned classical pianist Veronika Ilinskaya. Guests then enjoyed dinner with a gourmet inspired menu and expertly selected wines at Gstaad Palace’s famed Gildo’s Restaurant. Following dinner, ASW members of discerning taste enjoyed Patoro cigars and digestifs. The night ended with a late night dance party at Gstaad Palace’s exclusive GreenGo club and lounge where a live band from Copenhagen drummed up beats on congo drums and other entertainment well into the night.

On Saturday guests were transported to Wasserngrat Mountain for a morning of skiing. Guests then enjoyed an après-ski inspired lunch atop the mountain. The traditional Swiss fondue lunch, was accompanied by select regional wines and live traditional Swiss mountain music.

Later that afternoon, guests retired to Gstaad Palace’s five-star spa for afternoon tea and to enjoy the spa’s numerous amenities including a sauna, hammam and outdoor jacuzzi with views of the mountain landscape.

Saturday evening commenced with a black-tie gala and luxury prize raffle to benefit the charity Plan International. Their Ambassador, actress Freida Pinto, was onsite to accept. Dinner’s first course was a single oyster. Adding to the evening’s excitement, it was announced that Swiss fine jeweler Bucherer, placed a black, white and rose gold pearl in the oyster of three lucky guests who were the recipients of stunning necklaces by the jeweler. A rousing speech by Freida Pinto towards the end of the evening led to a standing ovation and commitment by every guest in attendance to support Plan International that evening.

“Now thanks to ASW, many PLAN International sponsored girls, in less privileged parts of the world, will slowly begin living out their dreams by, first of all, receiving the education they deserve and are entitled to receive,” said Freida Pinto. “My heartfelt gratitude to all those who accepted and endorsed the idea that small decisions can change lives.”
